Happy Independence Day!

My ancestor signed the Declaration of Independence. Fransis Lightfoot Lee. Neat, I said, when I was a teenager. My family wasn't into detailing our whole geneology. My Grandpa's last name is Lightfoot. Lee is the maiden name of the mother of Fransis. We're typical American muts now. My nationality make up Irish, Norwegian, English, Polish and French. My facial features are Norwegian. My brain is Polish, my culture and emotional side is French, and my temper...pure Irish! I speak English. American-English.

In school, I took history classes and read all the "boring basics" of how our nation got it's start. Back then we took what they taught us as truth, and much of it is. It's the white-washed, heroic version stripped of all the beautiful and graphic details that made this nation what it is today.

We were told the revolutionary war was fought because of the tyranny of England. Yes, that's true. What we weren't told that it wasn't because of unjust taxes, but because the King wouldn't allow us to mint our own money. The Bank of England wanted financial control over the colonies. It all boiled down to money.

Mayer Amschel Rothschild quote: "Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes the laws."

For a thorough understanding of the history of money, I recommend two resources: www.themoneymasters.com and "The Creature From Jekyll Island" by G.Edward Griffin. An alternative to the Money Masters DVD is to watch: www.zeitgeistthemovie.com part three. I do not endorse part one.

“If a Nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state
of civilization, it expects what never was and never
will be... If we are to guard against ignorance
and remain free, it is the responsibility
of every American to be informed.”
Thomas Jefferson

As we celebrate our independence and freedom, let us do our own due dilligence and be as fully informed as possible about what really happened back then, and to never forget. Because history has a tendancy to repeat itself.

Happy Independence Day!
